ActiveX database: – Business use many different data base format, such as access, FoxPro, oracle, dbase, SQL server etc. Fortunately, we do not have to write different sets of code to access the different database that visual basic support. This is because of a technology known as object linking and embedding database (OLEDB). OLEDB is a standard programming interface that may be used to access the data in many different of databases. We do not directly use OLEDB in our visual basic application, however. Instead, we use an ActiveX object (ADO) data control which in turn uses OLEDB to work with data bases.
